Commercial and Wholesale Users - Large Projects:

The biggest advantage we offer our larger customers is the fact that we are one of the closest farms to the Tampa Bay area. Freight can win or lose a job and we know that. Most of our competitors are further east- further from your jobs. As a supplier to many sports turf facilities, we grow a number of grasses for this market, and offer them in a number of different forms. CGI can supply your company with 48” big rolls, with our Bucyrus Magnum big roll harvester- we can cover open ground in a hurry, and by the same token offer you sprigs for the less time sensitive grow-in. Remember you can pick them up, we’ll deliver, or arrange installation -it’s your choice. Our latest option is to go to your facility and plant sprigs with our new 4 foot wide sod to sprig planter. Call for details!

Offering only certified grasses from the standard Tifway 419 Bermuda to the popular Celebration Bermuda, and don’t forget EMPIRE turf and Sapphire St. Augustine. We can supply more specialty products like ornamental perennial peanut, native seashore paspalum, and common Bermuda. We also supply many grasses that we don’t grow to complete your project. Just call for references of projects that have used our turf.

Tifway 419 Bermuda

Developed out of the University of Ga, this grass has stood the test of time. This is what you typically see on any golf course or athletic field that has been in place for a long period of time. Since ours is certified, you truly know what you are getting versus non-certified. Great for all those patch jobs that everyone experiences.

Celebration Bermuda

This grass is becoming just as popular as 419 and then some. An excellent choice for a heavily played soccer field or golf tee. Drought tolerance and wear recovery are the biggest advantages to this grass. Rated the number one grass for drought in the San Antonio water trials. We will send you copies of the trial results if you wish to see. The difference between it and other Bermudas in wear is speed of recovery. “Truly last longer in the goal mouths, and in between the hash marks.”

Empire Turf

Empire Turf is quickly moving into the commercial side of the business as a green, environmentally friendly option. More and more municipal and large scale developments are turning to this instead of Floratam, St. Augustine. It is our favorite variety of everything we grow. Whether it’s the entrance to your subdivision, a park, or a fire station- the same things that make it appeal to the homeowner apply: being drought tolerant, chinch bug resistant, and requiring less mowing still applies to your landscapes.

Sapphire St. Augustine

A St. Augustine with some characteristics that set it apart from Floratam. Sapphire has more of a horizontal growth habit, giving it a dwarf designation amongst the St. Augustine varieties. This gives it a denser look and allows for less mowing and maintenance. Coming from across the globe in Australia, Sapphire is more drought tolerant than Floratam. A couple other characteristics worth noting is an excellent blue-green color and beings as dense as it is allows for less weed pressure.

WE ARE VERY EXCITED ABOUT OUR LATEST TURF SOLUTIONS

Perennial Peanut also called Ecoturf

Our perennial peanut selection is a result of clients asking for a low maintenance alternative to turf as we know it. Once established Perennial Peanut offers true drought tolerance, no pest control necessary, no supplemental N or P fertilizer, best of all little to no mowing , all the while being aesthetically attractive. This is starting to see use in highway medians, homes, as erosion control, in water restricted areas amongst the many places. The only place we would not recommend it is in the shade.

Native Seashore Paspalum

Not the most aesthetically pleasing grass, but we think one of the most adaptable to its environment whether saline or fresh water in nature. For those familiar with Paspalum vagenatum we offer it in a sod form , we are one of the only farms that offers this option. Of course we are selling it in a plug tray as well. If you have a site calling for a salt tolerant, native or a ground cover for a harsh environment- this should be one to consider. Great for mitigation sites, wetland sites, erosion control in a salt water laden area, beachfront, etc. This is a great native to use.

Common Bermuda

Our common is actually a mix of Tifway 419 and common native Bermuda. Economical and tough to kill- this grass has many commercial applications and is also reducing our environmental impact.

Other Varieties

We offer several other varieties of turf not shown here. Please contact the farm for more information on these.

Commercial and Wholesale Users - Small Projects:

Unlike some of our competitors, we can handle the small jobs that come along too. We offer pick-up and delivery and can arrange installation on these smaller jobs as well. Our company understands that not everyone is building a 20 acre park or a golf course. We’ll be glad to supply sprigs in bulk bags for your renovation, come to your job with our 4’ sprig planter, sell you pallets as small as 200 square feet, and we will even custom cut your rolls to a different length than the standard to accommodate your needs. Whatever it takes, we can help. Offering all of our varieties as mentioned on the large projects page for the small user.- Tifway 419, Empire, Celebration, Sapphire, Peanut, Paspalum, and Common.
